Description:

Student will assist a faculty member in organizing coursework, entering grades, grading assignments and performing various miscellaneous tasks. Grade and assist the professor as needed, this may include: grading papers, classroom assistance, lab prep and/or lab demonstrations. May also be required to host group study sessions.The TA may assist with course-related field trips as a driver and/or co-leader, course-related planning and logistics, grading, and maintaining program equipment. Along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Assistant:
  • Set up labs and/or classes.
  • Prepare and/or demonstrate lab experiments.
  • Provide occasional study/help sessions for students.
  • Assist with course-related field trips as a driver or co-leader.
  • Assist with course-related planning and logistics.
  • Maintain program equipment.
  • Support professors as necessary with other duties as assigned.
  • Interact with students and provide assistance as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information and be discreet.
  • Must have excellent spelling and grammar skills. Must be mature, dependable, detail oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Preference will be given to students who successfully completed the following courses:
  • EDUC 2100 (Principles of Curriculum and Instruction) and/or SPED 4160 (Assessment for Learning and Data Driven Decisions for Special Education).
